Win me problems

When installing Me, it loads everthing then completes scandisk with no errors.It then comes up with 2 main faults 1) Standard mode: fault in MS-Dos extender (with various codes) 2) Standard mode: Bad fault in Ms- dos Extender ( various codes). What if anything can be done to rectify this and finish installing winme?

I haven't actually had any experience with this error, but I did the search with my usual references and it concluded that this is usually a memory problem. Do you have any RAM you could swap out of that machime...or perhaps remove a stick then switch it.
