Memory upgrade

WAIT! That can't be the right serial number because you said in the original post that the computer was a Pentium III but the info I pulled up from gateway and the info bucksfan pulled up is for a Pentium 4 system, which runs RIMM modules. Please double check the serial and get back to me.

That's the right serial #. But looking at buckfans link that's not my system. I found the serial # by going right mouse click on my computer ---> properties ---> support information.

The best way to figure out any of this out is to pull the memory out of the PC and read off the numbers to us. If the memory is RIMM there is no way it would be economical for you to upgrade it, If its PC100 its generally going to be a inexpensive upgrade.
