Win 98 install
I am trying to install Win 98 SE full version on a new hard drive. The entire install procees seems to go smooth but on the final reboot I get 2 beeps and the message on screen reads, "An internal stock overflow has caused this session to be halted, Change the stacks setting in your Config.sys file, and then try again." I have no clue what that means and how to go about doing it and would appreciate any suggetsions. Thanks!

try f8 on reboot and choose safe mode?

Yes, I've tried that and it works. I'm not sure what to do to resolve the problem so it will start up normally.

Is the hard drive the only new component in that system?

also, try to boot from start up disk, and through a: prompt, try to access your config.sys using edit and check for entry "stack=9,256". Modify if it's not.
