Red x's all over the place

Hello: I am having a problem and dont know what to do. For the last two or three days now when I get on the internet and go to a website, it will load but most of the pic's that should be there are now just red x's, also at the same time when I go to a differant website my instant messanger stars up, and I mean every time I go to a new page? Any help would be appreciated.

Well, as far as the red Xs everywhere, this may or may not be anything to do with your PC. If it happens on all of the web sites you visit, then you could try opening internet explorer, then going to TOOLS, INTERNET OPTIONS, and under the GENERAL tab DELETE TEMPORARY FILES. Maybe your cache if full.

If this doesn't fix it, try going to the IE website and downloading the latest version and run setup. This will usually fix most errors.

As for messenger running on every page. Are you running AIM or Yahoo or Microsoft's Messanger? Try right-clicking on the icon in the task bar by the clock and look for something like OPTIONS. see if there is a way to stop it from starting automatically.

You might want to open IE, go to tools/internet options/advanced tab and scroll down to the multimedia section and be sure show pictures is still checked.
