blank screen

help , screen went blank[very dark blue] and the monitor turns itself off after a few seconds. the monitor works when put on my other p.c. Booting off start up disc does nothing.Put in my old video card ,no better. Any help appreciated

Could be a faulty power supply. Does it sound like your fans and hard drive are spinning up inside the case? It could also be a problem with the motherboard.

If the power supply in both cases are compatible, try swapping them. This will narrow it down even further.

Of course, I'm assuming you've have made no recent changes to the BIOS or power-saving features in Windows. Try plugging it into a different wall socket (sounds crazy but it happens ).

If the second power supply doesn't help, then we need to consider the possibility that the motherboard has died.
