Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Using Windows Vista on a Toshiba Satellite Pro Laptop with wireless connection

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage (IE8 or IE7 )

Wireless connection shows connected but error message still continues

Problem started shortly after recent Windows update. Firefox continued to work for a while but now has also stopped working.

    Reset wireless connection (Shows Connected)
Tried uninstalling IE8 back to IE7
Tried clean re-boot with all non signed Microsoft drivers disabled
    Tried in safe mode
Ipv4 address shows as 192.168.0.3 Gateway 192.168.0.1 (Is this OK ?)

I do not have CD available for reset to factory settings.

    Please Help !

Hope this is enough info I am new to these forums

Your IP adress is fine. I would reboot the modem and router just for fun. Power Cycle Network. Afterward, open IE and go through Tools, Internet Options, Connections and run through the Setup there. Make sure Never Dial a Connection is checked, too.

    Problem Solved

This problem was caused by a badly uninstalled Norton firewall that didn't show up but still blocked connections. I downloaded a special program from symantec which solved the problem. Well worth a try if you have ever had any Norton programs on the PC.

Save your Product Key for your Norton product from your service provider, then download and run the Norton Removal Tool
