    Help _Printer security issue/question?

I was home alone today, walked by my computer & there in the the printer tray was a porn pic. How could this happen? I had the computer on the internet, but on the Adobe website. Could someone remotely access my computer? I do have another computer in the house & they are networked together wireless. One operates on XP, the laptop is VISTA (it was off at the time). It is upsetting because one of my kids could have spotted it first & I do not want it to happen again. Any thoughts. Thanks.

Run an antivirus and antispyware scan.

If you do not have either, you can get free ones from www.avg.com

    Got Virus spyware protection

I run TrendPC on each computer. Also, I went through security steps when setting up the wireless. I don't know. I have a very computer-savy neighbor...could this person have my printer print this?

Well....if a printer is a network printer, anyone on the network can print from that printer. If your wireless is encrypted, then that would indicate that someone in your network printed that picture. And...it is very concievable that your neighbor could have printed it, because he set up your network, and therefore could possibly know the keys to your encryption. But just because it is fiesible, doesn't mean he did it. Check to make sure the encryption is still on. I am not sure about this, but if routers lose power, they might just revert to factory settings. And well, factory settings doesn't enable encryption, which makes your wireless unsecure.

Um..this might sound weird but..are you kids old enough to..you know..look at that stuff? If so, could have been them, or as Spo0k suggested.

Nope. Kids are not a possibility. No one in house is a "suspect". That's what is so weird. I did originally set up an encryption code, but the router has been powered off several times so I'll double check that. I do have my printer set up where it will print from any computer in the house?
