Hi,

Further to my previous message I purchased a new CD drive, an A-Open 52X CD-r/RW.

I have just tried to install it - I removed the old drive and installed the new one with exactly the same settings. When I rebooted, I went into the control panel to install it and the PC crashed. I got a blue screen and some sort of message about physical memory dump. I have had this message before so I rebooted and tried again…the same thing happened.

I then booted the PC in safe mode, but I don’t think I did anything. Then when I rebooted the PC and tried to play a CD in the drive it worked fine. However, everytime I now switch the PC on I get a message saying that windows has recovered from a serious error. The details of the error are something like the following:

BC code 35 BCP1 81A2A008 BCP2:00000000 etc

It also mentions the following files that will be included in an error report:

C\windows\minidump\mini081903-0s.dmp
and
C\docume~1\Andy\Locals~1\temp\wer1.tmp.dir00\sysda ta.???.

Is this something to do with my new drive??

Any help would be much appreciated...
