Slow Install

I have a copy of a Star Trek Legacy I want to play but I am having a lot of trouble installing it. When the installer starts up it is extremely slow to respond and takes for ever to move from one step to another. It eventually faults and has to close. I have copied the files on to my harddrive, burned a copy of the disc all to no avail. The funny thing is that the cd and .iso copies I have made work perfect on atleast 3 other computers. I even had a friend make an .iso of the dvd and send it to me over our LAN incase my dvd-rom was on the fritz.

What in the world could be wrong. Everything else I install (on cd's, dvd's, downloads, etc) works like a charm. What do I do?
