plain text for Emails

A friend with Compuserve says:
Message on Emails with attachments, says computer does not recognize HTML can only display in plain text, how do I get 'plain text'...No problem before tech removed virus and now I need to have plain text? Friend has
Windows 2000. Thanks

He should just need to change his settings. In Outlook, go to TOOLS, OPTIONS, then MAIL FORMAT. Select from HTML, PLAIN TEXT or MICROSOFT RICH TEXT.
