Screen Saver Problem

My screen saver will not turn on. I a running windows vista on a new computer. I have it set to come on after 10 minutes of idle time and my power options are set to the recommended settings.

Any thoughts?

Vista is so advanced it knows screen savers only waste system resources and you shouldn't use them.

Just kidding. Does anything happen at all? If not, maybe there's a program running in the background that is preventing the screensaver from working. Tyr killing any icons down by the clock that you don't need and see if that helps.

A lot of media players will stop the screen saver.

What happens after 10 minutes? Nothing? Does the preview work where you select what screen saver you want?

Nothing happens after the ten minutes. The screen stays the same. I can preview the screensavers with no problem.

I would install the update and see if it works.
