hello there, i put a cd into my MONTH OLD laptop and it wouldnt read.... so i put in another.... wouldnt read. So with a little computer digging around, i noticed that it said windows cannot load the device driver for this software the driver may be corrupt or missing???? so now what do i do??? I went on to the dell web site and it said my laptop has an expired warranty?? I got it a little LESS than a month ago.. how is that possible?
Did you try this support page?
http://support.dell.com/support/index.aspx?~ck=pn
Click on "Drivers and Downloads", then you should get a pop-up. Enter your service tag #. It should be on a sticker on the bottom of your laptop.
As for why your warrenty is already expired, that's a good ?. You might want to talk to Dell about that. Have your sales receipt handy.
Did you install or start using a third party software to burn cds and dvds lately?
If you put the disc in, that means theres power going to it. It's a software issue, I gather. You would need to troubleshoot whether it is a windows driver or if a third party program is conflicting with it.
