Duke,
Nice work! You must have done SOME job in drying and cleaning, for it to have booted up.
What is it doing when you try to boot it up, now?
I've got a Toshiba Satellite M45-S165 laptop that was left in the floor board of a car with the window left down....it rained! When my son went out to the car he found it sitting in a pool of water (power cord & all). He let it dry out a few days before trying to boot it up. Needless to say it wouldn't. He brought it to me to see if I could do anything with it. When you plugged in the power cord the led indicating the battery is charging did not light up. I was sure it was toast. But I took it apart & aired it out & cleaned it up. Put it back together & plugged the power cord in the charging led lit up. Pushed the power on button and it booted up just fine and worked great for most of the day (turned on & off several times). I told my son to start burning all his most important files and data to DVD....just in case. Fortunately he did. And then when he tried to boot it up the next day, it was dead. No power indicator light or anything. So I tried cleaning it again and now it still won't boot up.
Any ideas on what to try next? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Now it doesn't do anything. Just dead as a doornail. The led lites don't even lite up. I just can't figure it. After cleaning it it booted up & ran perfectly (Win XP), no corrupt files or anything. But after it had been off a while, when he tried to start it up, nothing. I was very shocked when it booted up and ran after putting it back togeather. It doesn't seam to be getting any power. I've built lots of desktops, but have never worked on a laptop before. Any ideas on what may be going on with this thing? Thanks.
