Please help save my hard drive

My Wife's computer just crashed and we need to reinstall windows. We have some files on the hard drive that we don't want to lose and we can't even turn the computer on so I would like to attach the hard drive to my other computer and get the files that way but I'm having trouble getting it to work any ideas?

Thanks I actually had an extra cable that I was able to use and got it all under control now.
