    bios problems se440bx

    hi,
on a intel se440bx motherboard, i attempted to update the bios with the last version available from intel and i think i may have fouled things up. it worked fine before but now it doesn't see the primary ide controller. the pc has a scsi card with hard drive and zip and dvd rom attached all working fine. the ide side has a cdr and dvd ram which don't work because of the controller i assume. i tried to redo the bios per the instructions but no change.
    thanks

try just one of the devices at a time and see if they work

You can attempt to Discharge the CMOS via the jumper on the motherboard http://www.pctechbytes.com/cmos.htm but that probably will not work.

I'd say to go back to the site where you go the BIOS and download it again to a new disk. Perhaps it was corrupt.
